Nema sumnje da je prelepa, misteriozna, deluje kao nedostizna filmska zvezda, pomalo i kao bad girl.Njene tuzne, romanticne melodije i njen izgled se slazu perfektno. There’s no doubt she’s beautiful, the kind of girl men lust for. She’s a mistress, a movie-star trophy – she looks the part of the bad girl. Her sad, romantic lyrics match her look and feel perfectly. Del Rey's hit "Video Games" is a cute sadcore indie-pop song with a moody vibe, and her voice is smooth and has a pleasant, sultry quality. She was something that was very easy to like. And why not?

U intervjuu za Vog je rekla da je zelela ime koje se nosi sa njenim muzickim pravcem.
Lana Del Rej je ime koje je mene i moje prijatelje sa kojima govorim spanski podsetilo na glamur i morske obale. Zvuci divno kako kliza sa jezika.
,,Zelela sam da budem deo visoke muzicke scene. Nisam imala puno prijatelja i nadala sam se da cu ipoznati ljude i zaljubiti se a zapoceti zajednicu oko sebe, bas kao sto su u 60-im."
Lana said in a Vogue interview,
"I wanted a name I could shape the music towards. I was going to Miami quite a lot at the time, speaking a lot of Spanish with my friends from Cuba – Lana Del Rey reminded us of the glamour of the seaside. It sounded gorgeous coming off the tip of the tongue."
"I wanted to be part of a high-class scene of musicians. It was half-inspired because I didn't have many friends, and I was hoping that I would meet people and fall in love and start a community around me, the way they used to do in the '60s."
